All sewn up….

As I’ve embarked on two new projects,  a Book of Me and A Week In The Life, I’ve been waiting to afford a couple of new albums especially for them.  Having ordered them last night I was gobsmacked to have them turn up this afternoon.

I’ve gone with my 12x12 American Crafts for both project as I have loads (numbering over 100) of AC page protectors of various sizes.

Firstly this one for my BoM….

And a Leaf coloured corduroy album for A Week In The Life, which I have now decorated……

AWITL Album detail

I love the Maya Road chipboard and couldn’t resist using it.  I’ve used the April scrapagogo kit with some Adornit stickers and JBS bingo card.

Got to dash now but thanks for stopping by!

FB Status….

I don’t  know about you but Facebook has kinda crept up on me, meaning that over the last six months the days have become shorter as a result. Know that feeling? LOL.

I decided, it has to be said after a mooch around Effer Dares, to create a page to record it for my Book of Me.  And this is the result.  I thought the madness of Sassafras suited it really well.  Unusually for me I have printed out my journaling for this one with status updates copied directly, with the time stamp, from FB.

FBStatusFull

The journaling  on the right reads -

“ Facebook has crept up on me. Its responsible for too many lost hours.  Hours for one, I could have been scrapping.  We could have a tidy house.  We could have a fully stocked cupboard.

No longer content with playing FarmVille, there is PetVille, Mafia Wars and Vampire Wars. …and I even do status updates.”

Thanks for stopping by!  (I’m off for my lunch now – and not facebook! LOL)

The early bird...

For once I am way ahead on my GoGo Circle Journal! The theme this time is "Words to live by". All those phrases that you find yourself saying or living by. My chosen saying is "If you can't choose who you are, what are you if not the sum of your choices".
I know that sneak peaks wind some people up, but I don't want to spoil it for the recipient or other circle.
Pages this month have been created using the lovely January kit from scrapagogo. I love the stamp produced for this kit and was lucky enough to get my hands on one as I don't sub to the stamp.
Thanks for looking!

A little bit of comfort....

Thought I'd share another layout I did whilst we were away. I had to wait until we got home to add the butterflies and I didn't take the stamps away with me. Sorry the photo isn't the best.
This one is about Rosie sucking her thumb, something she does when she is tired or upset.

Think I'm going to have to find a source for those Maya Road pins, I just love them but only have a couple left. The stamp on the photo is Ali Edwards from Technique Tuesday.
The butterflies have been stamped onto patterned paper, cut out and then stamped on the reverse and finally directly onto the background paper.

Thanks for stopping by for a look!

So, that layout then....

Home sweet home, and a chance of getting some better photo's of it.

I wasn't sure about this paper when I first saw it, but having sat for a while staring at it I though it should look like my pin board, so I chose a few photo's of Jamie and some random bits and pieces from a box of embellishments I took on holiday with me and just stuck them on.

I decided to include that gorgeous Melissa Frances frame from scrapagogo, by using it to frame a scrap of paper that I liked, so now you know what I've done with it. I also adore that tiny key from 7 gypsies from the IM kit. Think they go really well together on the page.

Thanks for looking.

A little holiday scrapping

Good morning all. I'm still on holiday, but you may well notice that that hasn't meant I haven't been around in the old tinterweb.

I have my tote with me, packed to the brim. It's soooo heavy, but I still don't have everything with me that I want, or rather need. I've decided to post a sneak peek of a layout that I have managed to finish while here though. It's only a peek as the light has been terrible and I can't manage a decent photo of the full thing just yet, but I will post it later on.
I've used a mixture of embellishments from Scrapagogo's August kit and Indigo Mill's Mischief & Mayhem kit with a little Jenni Bowlin and some pearls.
Right - better get on with the business of being on holiday before it's time to come home again!
Thanks for looking!!

365 #226

Although my scrapagogo kit landed yesterday I have only had chance to have a good look at it today. Much to my surprise this frame from Melissa Frances is my favourite piece this month. I was dying to get my hands on the keys, but fell for this little beauty when I saw it. I wonder if it will ever get used or if it will stay forever something to stroke...

A 365 layout

Back in June I took a photographs of one of Rosie tantrums for my photo of the day. I've chosen two of them and scrapped them. I didn't want to mention at "t" word, so the title come journalling reads, "not every day is good when you are 2"

Thanks for looking!

Home - a layout to share

What's this....another LO! Oh yes, two in one day. One of the classes on Sunday was entitled "Home is where the heart is" I liked the idea but wasn't mad about the LO so when this months kit arrived earlier today I decided that it suited me more and I'd scrap the same photo.

The journaling reads.

"Home.
The house that Chris & I chose together. Ours.
31 March 2007 we moved in. It's where my heart is.
The place I always want to return to. It belongs to our family.
It's my safe place.
This house will always be special."
...............
As always, thanks for looking!

SLYMI - Week 23

Ta-dah....here it is, my self portrait layout. I decided to go for nice muted tones, I guess you could say playing it safe for the first SP I've ever scrapped. I'm logging this down down to SLYMI week 23, but it could also come under week 16 - scrapping in the morning as I was up at 07:30 doing it.

365 #193

Sunday was an early start with a decent drive to reach Warrington for 09:30 for Scrapagogo's Colour Me Happy Too! event. And boy, did it feel like a long drive and I just wanted to go back to bed once I got there. The day had 4 classes and the LO above is from the final class of the day, taken by Eileen. The photo was to be of someone who completes your life, so it was obvious, it had to be of Chris. I took the photo Saturday evening in the garden, once the kids had gone to bed and we still had some light. I really like this shot of him (copy below)
The LO was a challenge for me purely because it uses sooooo much pink! Eeek! I don't do pink, hate the colour generally. but I just had to get over it. The journaling reads:
"Thank you,
...for making me smile
...for the hugs & kisses
...for always being there for me
...for being a brilliant Dad
...for making a great biryani
...for being you
...for being in my life

365 #168

It's that time of month again and a little box of sunshine has been delivered to my door. As with any kit you run the risk of there being things in that you really don't like and would never use. So sitting stroking everything I decided to showcase the things in this months kit that I fell in love with as soon as I saw them. They are also things that I may never use as I am guilty of that as well - liking them too much...

Smile

I'm supposed to be having a big housework day today, but got distracted again and made a quick card. Design for this one is again lifted from Card Trends.

It was so quick and easy to make and I'm really please with the end result, sadly the photograph isn't so great. The coloured cardstock and patterned paper have all come from the May scrapagogo kit. So, supplies used here are Inspire me paper card blank; Bazzill & AC cardstock; PP - pink paislee and MME; AC "Smile" flair (which mean I have finally used one from the flair mountain!).

Footie anyone?

Such a lovely sunny day - so why waste it indoors. Well, I didn't waste it, I scrapped. I did scrap outdoor photo's though in my defense.
This LO is of Jamie and Rosie playing football in the garden a couple of weeks ago. I've used the scrapagogo April Showers kit, along with a few bits from past kits, stash and of course my new threads, flairs and a journaling card.

TFL!

A touch of Shabby Chic....

Something that I have loved since subbing to Scrapagogo is being introduced to new companies. Shabby Chic is one of them, I just adore the journaling cards they produce and recently I decided to look them up on t'tinterweb. As a result I have found that they have a sister company - Blueberry Freckles, where they sell printable tags.
This little selection, at just 1 3/4" x 3 1/4" , will be available via Blueberry Freckles in the next week but as I was cunning and subscribed to the newsletter - they were free. While these have been printed onto white cardstock, but I'm wondering how they will look on some Kraft cardstock.
Why not give them a visit and sign up to the newsletter, hopefully the next time round there will be more freebies with it to print out.

A 365 Layout

I've decided to start scrapping some of my favourite photo's from my 365 2009 Project.
The photo used in this LO was from day 70, the 11 March.

This one uses more of scrapagogo march '09 kit that included the lovely puffy thickers. Shame I have no e's left after this. Guess I'll just have to get some more. LOL. The hearts and bling are from the Feb '09 kit.

For the journaling I've used an October Afternoon stamp.

SLYMI - Week 13

Although I've only done a couple of layouts as yet from the Scrap Like You Mean It challenge over on UKS, I am making a note of them all and aim to give each one ago. Shockingly, I've done this weeks - Scrap with Stamps. I'm getting back into my stamping again and wanted to used some with the PWL photo I took of Chris.

I've used the Scrapagogo March '09 kit for this one, along with October Afternoon journaling stamps and Adorn It mini alpha stickers. The hearts and swirl are also stamped, but I can't for life of me remember whose stamps they are.

TFL!
