ten minute tuesday with a WOYWW twist..

hello, welcome. Sorry about being missing recently.

Where to start… “ahhhh” seems like a good place right now.

Having the kids at home is having a bigger knock on effect this year than last.

Last year, they played quietly. This year they have to be constantly reminded of what indoor voices sound like.

Last year they got on. This year they argue, scream and shout at each other over the smallest things.

Last year I could work happily with them in the background. This year it’s proving to be very stressful.

How many weeks until the schools are open again? We really should have summer camps like they do in the States. I know I’m a slight workaholic. You have to be when you work for yourself. I know I add self induced pressure to the mix. I know I am overdue a nice long break. Right now a Pimms will do!  Oh well, The Better Half finishes up on Friday for the rest of the summer and the full on family fun starts in earnest. Warnings have gone on the shop, just need to add holiday dates as well. (you can still order, but I won’t be popping back to pack them).

Right – creatively I’m been working on secret squirrel projects. Stuff I’d love to share, but can’t.

This is my desk pad. It’s been used for a wee bit of brainstorming. The rest of my desk is full of ink pads and stamps, invoices, pre-orders and stock lists.  I’m not sharing that as it looks like a fax machine has puked up on it. I kid you not, paper mountain, avalanche danger to all who enter. I have three weeks left before we head off on our jollies and I’m wondering how I’ll get it all done. I will though, because I have to. The Better Half will be here to ease the pain and allow me to get on with what needs to be got on with.

Just going to leave you with this picture, taken on my phone before the clouds wondered on. I love the crisp white edge to the clouds… a silver lining perhaps. A good omen.

WOYWW...

Me, WOYWW?
Yep, this is a rare one, but I find myself in a blogging mood this week.

Maybe it's having the kids at home and craving two minutes escape.
Bet your bottom I won't be here next week while they are at Grandma's!

I have two desks.
A paperwork desk and a painty desk.
So here's a quick shot of how my day starts.

Oh the chocolate wrapper - not from this morning, from last night.
That bit was clearly happy where is was and didn't want to be consigned to the rubbish bin just yet.

This one is hanging around for those "bored now" moments.
I plan to do some bread baking with the kids over the Easter break.

WOYW errmmm, Tuesday?

Are you impressed? Apart from the fact that it's Tuesday! I'll be busy tomorrow so getting early! A tidy desk - again. I'm trying to get into the habit of tidying up when I'm done. Last night I worked on my New York mini book and before I went to bed I cleared all the bits away! Woooooo - get me! LOL.

So, this is the next mini book I'm going to work on. I plan to use it for Learn Something New which starts in September. It's a Maya Road book with chipboard tab pages and envelopes. I'm waiting for some kraft cardstock to come and will use the chipboard as a template to make more pages. Not sure what the class entails yet as it's my first year, but I've decided to keep it small anyway. Hope I don't change my mind.

365 #217 combined..

That's to say combined with WOYWW, thereby killing several birds with one stone. So here is my desk today. Note that it must be tidy (for me anyway) as I can see and easily get to what I am using.

The results of what's on my desk... I'm making Jamie's Thank You cards, finally. I've used October Afternoon stamps, bazzill cardstock, thread, distress ink and a punch. Sounded so simple but they are taking me ages with all those holes and stitching to do. I was just going to add a button to the top, but no, I had to stitch. Still, I always get a nice feeling when I'm done.

WOYWW....

Yes, I know it's Thursday, but Angie seemed to want to know. So, this is the aftermath of my creative process...my work desk as it was last night, and this morning. I have some cards to play with so it's on my list to tidy up today so that I can start the next project.

I've taken a nice wide shot so you can get the full horror! I have to admit, the LO I did of Rosie yesterday was done at Chris' desk as there was no room on mine and the urge was too strong to scrap the photo to have to wait until I'd had a tidy up.
TFL!
